Maura is known at the office for her gentle spirit and sharp organizational skills. Before joining the Stapleton Elder Law team, Maura devoted over 20 years to teaching. She also started (and received accreditation for) a K-12 private school, later serving as the school’s principal. She earned an undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education from Anna Maria College and a Master of Arts in Elementary Education from Worcester State College.
Originally from Boston, Maura moved to Charlottesville in 1992 where she met her husband. They later relocated to Orlando where they could hear the Disney fireworks shows nightly. After 12 years in Florida, they returned to Charlottesville and the peace of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Together, Maura and her husband have two adult children. She enjoys crafting, camping, going to the beach, watching college football games, and playing with Bailey, her fur baby.
